Indi-Go-Modern
This is the perfect class to use fresh blue and white fabrics, either from Japan or from your stash. Start by stitching practice blocks from blue and white paper, then translate our ideas to fabric! MJ Kinman
Treasure Hunting
MJ Kinman created this workshop specifically for quiltmakers who want to create a quilt in which every piece is a different size and shape. The secret is her freezer paper piecing technique that transforms ideas into reality. While MJ finds her inspiration in gemstones, your inspiration might be landscapes, florals, portraits, or abstract images. MJ’s techniques apply to them all.

Fused Art Quilts from Photographs
Students select a photograph they wish to work from, get it enlarged and trace a pattern from which to work. Another option is to use any pattern by Sandra, which may be appropriate for beginning students who do not have an image they want to use. Students will select appropriate fabrics to use, which are then fused into place, enhanced with media, and quilted to create an art quilt.

Carly Mul
Freestyle Color Collage
Make a collage quilt (raw edge appliqué) without any pattern or design. Your fabrics will determine the flow of the colors and the finished result. It is a method where students learn to look and “listen” to their colors and are open minded for an abstract end result. This liberating and creative art class will completely change how you look at colors and fabric.

Abstracting From Nature
We will examine artists’ interpretations of nature before beginning to manipulate natural forms ourselves. Choose a plant subject to work through a set of design exercises. This subject needs to have a variety of elements… blossom, stem, leaves, etc. Our goal is to discover as much about the plant as we can before simplifying and exaggerating it.
